Lagos-Badagry Eapressway, Lagos, Nigeria

THE NIGERIA WORST ROAD

Enough of pains ,agony and trauma and economic loss on daily basis being withnessed by the good people of Badagry Division ! We are crying out loud ( An soro soke )

It therefore becomes Imperative to remind whichever Government( Federal or State or both responsible for this road to ACT NOW AND NOW before those that will vote for them next year Local government elections and 2023 General Election die of stress and heart attack .

It is no longer a news that many have died ,so many are in different hospitals and many nursing one form of illness because of their encounters on this one of the old Express ways in Nigeria .

Going to the memory lane , this Express way was constructed in the early 70s by Gowon administration after the civil war! And records are there to confirm how many times Federal and State governments have repaired the road .

It is not only a trunk A road but an international road where so much money is being made on daily basis . Ideally , some percentage of money being made from this road could be set aside for maintenance if worse come to worst !

The same road has the first private medical university in Nigeria, the National Post Graduate Medical College too is there in the road , the French Language Village is among the edifices planted by the federal government on the sane road , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is there right on the Expressway at Ayetoro , a Private Polytechnic, and many more that could not be mentioned ..

This same road links Nigerian to other west African States and our government knows this obvious fact !.

Interestingly to many of us is that , same road houses fastest growing villages and communities where living seems to be very affordable for the lower class citizens and where more votes come from in Lagos State.

Without any iota of exaggeration, many lives that I know have been lost in this road because of the dilapidated nature and the nonchalant attitude of our leaders towards this all important road .

By the records, the construction or expansion of the road has taken over 12 years and till date , no significant and visible manifestation has been recorded at least from AGBARA to MOWO..

Why is our government playing with the lives of motorists and pedestrians living and plying this road ?

Why did Government hate those living in this axis so much and such hatred not even hidden ?

Why would the road and axis that produced two consecutive Deputy Governors of Lagos State be abandoned in this state ?

Do this road and axis have representatives at the state house of assembly, Upper and lower Chambers?

When will this road and axis receive the right recognition it deserves ?

All over the world , higher Institutions and their environment normally deserve good road and recognition , could it mean that ,LASU and AOCOED are not worth given the concession to repair this road ?

Today, being Saturday and the last day in October 2020 , makes it one year and 150 days the current administration of Lagos State declared a state of emergency on this road from Abule Ado to Badagry .One wonders ,why the promise has not been fullfiled to cover Agbara to Badagry !

Some of us wonder if Badagry Division is part of the IBILE HOLDERS OF LAGOS STATE, because of the conspicous treatment of this all important road. !

Are we going to vote in the coming local government elections next year ?.

Are we going to participate in the 2023 General elections without completing our road ?

These and many other questions are begging for answers .

While I groan writing this piece by what I experienced today ,Saturday 31th October on this road , it becomes Imperative to look unto God in fasting and prayers for the Government to answer our humble cries .

Prayer

I join the rest of other sufferers on this road to appeal passionately to our government to without any further delay, DECLARE A STATE OF EMERGENCY ON THIS ROAD ONCE AND FOR ALL.

And for God’s sake , answer us on this road even ,if it is PALLIATIVE of repairing and patching the road .

Long live Nigeria

Long live Lagos State

Long live those living and plying this Badagry Express way .

I honour you all
